Community Meals on Wheels is an independent, non-profit, volunteer organization located in McDonald, PA. We provide meal delivery to those who qualify and are living within the boundaries of the areas we service. Our services allow older and disabled adults to remain independent longer. At the core of the Meals on Wheels service is a nutritious meal, companionship and a watchful eye on the health and safety of our patrons.

Meals on Wheels is an effective solution to the three biggest threats to our seniors: inadequate nutrition, isolation and safety. Delivering much more than a meal, we provide the safety check, the warm smile and friendly conversation that enable millions of seniors to remain in their own homes, where they want to be.

Our goal is to support the whole person, ensuring that every senior in America has a chance to live a fully nourished life, with independence and dignity, for as long as they are able.

"Together, We Can Deliver!"

A Message about our Coronavirus response:

Seniors and those in fragile health are at the greatest risk from Coronavirus/COVID-19. Local Meals on Wheels programs such as ours are focused on doing all we can to keep our older citizens safe as well as nourished. We are continuing to provide meals to our clients, and have resumed 5 day a week delivery as of August 1, 2020. Our kitchen and food preparation surfaces are sanitized daily, both before and after meal preparation.

We are able to provide contactless delivery. We provide a cooler for the client and our volunteer driver simply places the meal in the cooler and lets the client know it is there either by ringing the doorbell or knocking. All of our volunteer drivers wear masks when delivering the meals so we can bring the meal into the clients home if that is preferred.

All of our volunteers have been educated about the symptoms of Coronavirus. If they are ill, they refrain from volunteering for a week. In the unlikely event that any volunteer tests positive for COVID-19, our clients will be notified and contact tracing will be initiated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as per their protocols.

Please consider donating to our program:

Unfortunately, the costs and measures necessary to protect our local seniors from this pandemic require additional funds, and that is why we are asking those in our community to please consider donating to Community Meals on Wheels of McDonald to help us meet the increased demand for nutritious meal delivery that can help keep our seniors safe and healthy. As an independent, charitable organization, we do not receive any federal funding for our program. Much of our funding comes from donations and contributions, which are needed now more than ever.

As most of our clients are on a fixed income, they occasionally have difficulty paying for their meals. The pandemic has not helped this situation. If you would like to sponsor one of our clients for a day, week or month, please indicate *Sponsorship* on your donation. This can be designated for a specific client if you choose or will be given to one of our clients in need to defray the cost of their meals.

If you choose to give, please send your donation to the following address:
